Where are classes held?Regular open enrollment classes are held in the following cities: Erie, PA Pittsburgh, PA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, PA Harrisburg, PA Philadelphia, PA If you don't find a course near you, reach out and we can come to your location for personalized training. We offer classes all throughout Pennsylvania and beyond!

How do I schedule for an instructor to come teach at my location?You can fill out any of the forms on our webpage and mention that you would like on site Red Cross Training. You can email to start the conversation at David.Kohl@household-hq.com Be prepared to discuss where you would like the training to take place, how many you want trained, potential dates or a timeframe, and whether or not you have audio visual equipment.

How many people can Household HQ train at the same time?Red Cross limits instructor to student ratios to 1 instructor for every 12 students. Some courses can offer more. Household HQ has many instructors and we can coordinate to fit your needs! 12, 24, 36 or more, you name it. We can also hold multiple courses, too!

What are the costs for your courses?Household HQ charges based on the size of the course and the type of course. You can find prices on the ticket options when you register for open courses. You can also reach out to us to schedule on site training and pricing will be part of the discussion. We love to offer discounts and match prices so don't be afraid to ask!

How long is the CPR/First Aid class?Most in-person skills sessions for CPR take 2 to 3 hours, depending on the course type and number of participants. Blended learning courses require online learning and then an in person skills session. Some courses such as the CPR Instructor course can take a whole day. Others such as EMR, Lifeguarding, and Wilderness First Aid can take multiple days.

Are your CPR courses OSHA compliant?Yes. All CPR, First Aid, and AED training offered by Household HQ through the American Red Cross meets OSHA and workplace safety requirements.

Do I need to complete an online portion before the class?Some courses are blended learning, which means you’ll complete an online module before attending the hands-on session. Check the class details before registering. Also, make sure to read the Returns and Cancellations policy.

Who teaches the class?Courses are taught by certified American Red Cross instructors with real-world experience in emergency response and education. You can meet our team and learn more about them on our Team Page.

What should I bring to class?You just need to bring a willingness to learn. If you course is a blended learning course, you may be asked to show proof that you have completed the course. Note taking materials are a great way to stay engaged but not necessary. Some courses require additional items such as instructor courses requiring teaching materials and lifeguarding courses requiring water materials.

Can I get certified online only?No. While you can complete the lecture portion online, hands-on skills practice and testing are required in person to earn certification. Your online content is generally only good for 90 days while you look to take part in a skills session.

Can I book a private class for my organization or workplace?Yes! Household HQ offers on-site training for businesses, schools, churches, and other groups. Contact us to schedule a private session.
